Maryborough Fishing Festival 2023       

September 29th to October 1st.

The 2023 Fishing Festival is to be hosted by the Maryborough Sportfishing club. The ANSA QLD Fishing Festival is wonderful event where all ANSA members, along with their families and friends can gather together and enjoy a social long weekend catching up, a friendly fishing competition, formal dinner with annual awards and the AGM.

Usually, a group of members start to arrive early in the week, to enjoy the local area, sight-see and testing the waters. There are so many fishing options. You can fish Offshore (pelagics and reefies), the Bay (Mackerel and Tuna), the rivers (Barra and King Salmon), freshwater (Barra, Bass and Sooties) and land-based if you don’t have a boat. The Maryborough members will kindly share enough information to get any visiting anglers a start.

Friday – Briefing at 6pm at Wallace Caravan Park.

Saturday – Fishing Competition. Lines in from 5am.

Saturday night – Qld Sportfisher Awards Dinner 7pm at Old Sydney Hotel.

Sunday- Fishing Competition. Lines in from 5am to 12 noon and 1pm Sausage sizzle and competition presentation.

Sunday Afternoon- AGM will follow the presentation.

Sites available include:

Powered premium drive through (with an additional adjacent parking area if required (free of charge)) and powered standard reverse-in (additional parking as above).

Unpowered sites, Double cabins and Family cabins (with space for car & boat trailer to be parked on the forecourt).

When organising their bookings members/participants should identify themselves as attending the “ANSA QLD Maryborough Fishing Festival and Park management will allocate suitable sites or accommodation according to the customers’ requirements and you will get a discount of 10%.

There is no booking fee or deposit requirement. The Wallace RV Park is pet friendly and has an off-leash exercise area.

Entrance to the park is left off Ferry St in the first block after crossing the Lamington Bridge inbound to Maryborough (across Ferry St from the Lamington Hotel). The park has frontage to the Mary River and is less than 200 metres from the Lamington Bridge public boat ramp.
