STH QLD INTERCLUB CHALLENGE 2025

DATES: 9th – 11th May 2025 Hosted by the Southern Brisbane Sport fishing Club Inc 

Southern Brisbane Sport Fishing Club along with ANSA QLD are hosting the QLD Interclub Challenge for 2025 and we would like to invite all ANSA members to participate in this social fishing event. Come along and meet members from other ANSA QLD clubs and enjoy a social fishing weekend. This is a friendly club-based fishing competition to promote the spirit of ANSA. All friends and family welcome to come along.

The STH QLD Interclub Challenge is a great opportunity for your club members to get together to fish and socialise and compete for the prestigious Champion Club Trophy. There will also be some individual prizes.

LOCATION: JACOBS WELL. – Jacobs Well Tourist Park, QLD.

Friday -Meet and Greet from 6pm with the briefing starting at 7pm. BBQ Dinner will be supplied and bring your drinks and chairs. You will find us at the main Camp Kitchen events area.

Saturday – Fishing starts at 6am and finishes on Sunday at 12.00 noon. you will need to hand in your capture sheets.

Lunch supplied by Southern Brisbane and Presentation. You will find us at the main Camp Kitchen events area.

Cost and Registration:

Cost to register for ANSA members is $10 per person and accompanying juniors (under 16) years of age are free to enter.

Cost to register for non-ANSA members is $15.00. To register, simply send Jeff an email with your details. Please include full name, your ANSA club, boat name and your mobile number for each person entering.

You can pay your registration fee by Direct Transfer to: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Use you name as the reference.

There are plenty of accommodation options and heaps of room for boats. BOOK NOW. To book a powered site at or cabin Jacobs Well | Gold Coast Tourist Parks and when booking mention Southern Brisbane Sportfish Club.

FISHING CHALLENGE:

STH QLD INTERCLUB TROPHY – This is a Club award and will go to the club with the highest score. The score will be calculated by using the clubs 5 longest fish, combine with the number total species they caught. Calculation for the trophy is: Total length of 5 nominated fish in cm of fish to the fork plus 10 points per species for every species caught. Fish must be legal length and on the ANSA QLD Species list. A picture of the fish along with the code on a suitable measuring device is required and may be requested by the weigh master/recorder.

Example: Flathead 50cm, Bream 30cm, 2 Mackerel 70cm and 80cm and a Mullet 30cm = 260 points. The clubs combined eligible species caught – 15 species x 100points = 150 Total score is 410. Note – No Sharks, Eels or Rays.

This is a Club award and will go to the club with the highest score. To receive a prize or trophy, you will need to be at the Presentation. Each club must select a captain (or some sensible) to take control of the capture sheet and complete it for submitting to weigh master on the Sunday.

Angers may fish from the Brisbane River south to Tweed Heads River.
