Redcliffe Sportfish Challenge 2020

Friday 13th from 6pm there will be a Meet and Greet at Moreton Bay Boat Club, Scarborough. The restaurant and bar will be open. We will have a short briefing and handout capture sheets (if not attending Briefing sheets will be emailed out with Tournament Code).
Fishing time will be from Friday 12.00 Midnight to Sunday 3.30 PM. Weigh station will be open for weigh in fish and handing in capture sheets from 3.30 PM until 4.30 pm on Sunday. BBQ from 3.30pm and Presentation from 4.30 pm on Sunday on the Grassed area at MBBC. In the event of rain, we will be on the back deck. COST: $25.00 for Senior ANSA or QGFA members and any accompanying Juniors members are free. Temporary ANSA membership available for non-member $10

To be held on 13th – 15th November – Hosted by the Redcliffe Peninsula Game & Sportfish Club. Great Prizes to be won.
Anglers may compete in one or more challenges. Each individual fish can only be submitted in one challenge. Awards given for gents/ladies and juniors in each challenge.
BEACH Challenge (land based) – Fish must be caught from a land based position such as a jetty, wharf, beach or bank. A combined total length of your best 5 fish.
BAY Challenge (bay, lakes & rivers) – Fish must be caught in any of the Bays, estuary’s, canals, lakes and rivers. A combined total length of best 5 fish.
BLUEWATER Challenge (offshore) – Fish must be caught offshore as per the fishing areas and outside a line from Combyora Point on Moreton Is. to Skirmish Point on Bribie Is. A combined total length of best 5 fish.
Any fish in the ANSA species list may be considered, Excluding Sharks, Rays and Eels
There will also be awards and prizes for:
- The Longest fish overall in each section.
- $200 CASH for Mystery Length
- Most fish tagged as per monitoring programs either ANSA or QGFA.
- Chairman’s Trophy
This event is open anyone who is a member of ANSA or QGFA and registers for the competition.
All fishing is to be conducted under ANSA rules. All State fishing rules and bag limits to be observed. Undersize fish cannot be submitted.
Any fish that will be submitted for the challenges must be photographed twice, once on a brag mat or measuring device and once with the angler with the Tournament Code displayed. The fish must then be documented on the supplied capture sheet to be submitted to the weigh master after cease fishing.
While catch and release is encouraged, anglers are also encouraged to keep fish for consumption and these may be presented gilled and gutted. Certified scales will be provided at the weigh in.
Fishing areas are all waters between Double Island point south to QLD/NSW Border including dams and rivers, excluding privately owned waters.
Award winners must be present to receive any awarded prize. In the event of a draw in any category, the first angler to accumulate their score will be considered the winner.

Line types as per the ANSA regulations. Braid may be used by fishing with a ‘breakaway trace’. The breakaway trace must be a minimum of 500mm long and a maximum 1000mm in length. The main line must be at least one strain heavier than the breakaway trace.
There will be a free BBQ provided on Sunday for the weigh-in and presentation. Alcoholic beverages may be purchased from the MBBC can bar provided.
Please Note: While RPG&SC Inc. takes all due care when conducting events, the RPG&SC Inc. and the MBBC are not liable for any damage, injury or costs sustained to persons or property, therefore all persons participating in RPG&SC Inc. events must conduct themselves in a responsible manner. RPG&SC Inc reserves the right to cancel their entry.
Tagging of fish is promoted, a list of species will be as per the ANSA monitoring schemes which is available at https://www.ansaqld.com.au/monitoring-plans/
For visiting anglers Accommodation for the event is not supplied but parking of boats in the MBBC will be available. Please see reception at MBBC and a deposit for the access key will secure access for the event.
Boat ramps at the Moreton Bay Boat Club are available for competitors and the local area is well served by public boat ramps.

ENTRY INTO THE MBBC FACILITIES
All entrants that live within a 15km radius of the MBBC must be at least a social member of the MBBC or a reciprocal club member to enter the premises for the purpose of briefing and presentation night in accordance to Liquor licensing laws and as per the Clubs QLD reciprocal list. Visitors sign in with ID.
